Henry Butcher Malaysia which is part of the international network of Henry Butcher & Co., International Asset Consultants & Chartered Surveyors has been providing real estate solutions to government, commerce & industry in Malaysia for more than 35 years. Henry Butcher & Co was founded in London circa 1860s.
Our comprehensive range of services means that you can deal with just one Company for all your real estate, plant and machinery needs.
The group is represented in Malaysia by Henry Butcher Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. which started from a humble Kuala Lumpur office of 4 in 1987 to what is now a nationwide network of offices throughout Malaysia with a staff strength numbering more than 1,000.

Our Penang Team
Henry Butcher Malaysia (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. established in 1989 was the first branch of the Group in Malaysia. Sr. Dr. Teoh Poh Huat, a Chartered Surveyor is the Director, assisted by Shawn Ong and Sr. Helen Teoh.

Sr. Dr. Teoh Poh Huat
Director
He holds an MBA from Heriot Watt University, a Doctorate from the University of South Australia and a post graduate certificate in Real Estate Finance from the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr. Teoh is a Registered Valuer with the BOVEAP, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (UK) and the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and the New York based Urban Land Institute and Fiabci.
He has more than 38 years of experience in property consultancy including asset valuation, research, investments and management and also serves as a High Court appointed assessor and expert witness in land acquisition matters. He was a former Adjunct Professor in the Department of Real Estate Management, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Malaya and a former expert panel member of the National Real Estate Research Coordinator (NAPREC) Institut Penilaian Negara (INSPEN), Ministry of Finance, Malaysia. He has presented papers at national and international forums and conferences.
Shawn Ong Kah Boo
Associate Director
Shawn Ong Kah Boo has 28 years of working experience providing real estate professional services. He is currently the Associate Director of Henry Butcher Malaysia (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. and is actively involved with all aspects of the firm’s services particularly valuation, research and consultancy as well as agency.
He started his career in 1995 as a valuation assistant with an international firm, gaining experience in undertaking valuation of various types of properties which include major office buildings, hotels, shopping centres, industrial properties, plantations, townships, large tracks of development land, etc. for various purposes. In July 2006, he was made to be the Resident Manager in charge of the Penang office principally responsible for all property valuations, agency, research and consultancy services in the northern region.
In November 2008, he joined Henry Butcher Malaysia Penang as Head of Asset Valuation and was involved in corporate real estate valuation, feasibility studies and real estate consultancy services involving properties located in the northern region of Malaysia. He has over the years gained vast experience and exposure in the various real estate property services provided by the firm and has given professional advice to major public and private companies, multi-nationals (MNCs), major corporations, developers and industrialists based in Malaysia, Singapore, etc. He has undertaken series of portfolio valuations for companies seeking listing in the BURSA Malaysia.
Sr. Helen Teoh
Executive Vice President
Sr. Helen Teoh is a registered estate agent and has more than 20 years of real estate experience. She joined Henry Butcher Malaysia Penang in 2000 and constantly achieved high sales performance record in the property sales transaction. She possessed a law degree from University of London and subsequently obtained a Degree in Real Estate Management from Heriot-Watt University. She is currently overseeing the agency department, general administration of the company, managing corporate and public relation matters. Ms. Teoh is an auctioneer for banks and High Court. She also conducts private auction and tender exercises for property owners.
